The DF40A stands out among 40 HP engines as it offers exceptional DOHC performance, making it unique in its class, and it is the only engine to feature a maintenance-free, oil-bathed timing chain, resulting in improved durability and hassle-free operation. Suzuki has enhanced power and performance by incorporating larger displacements, while their Lean Control System ensures better fuel economy with more compact and lighter designs compared to previous models. The DF40 engines also come equipped with the Suzuki Troll Mode System. Recognizing their innovation, the Boating Writers of America honored Suzuki Marine with the NMMA Innovation Award for the DF40A/DF50A at the 2011 Miami Boat Show.
